About This Policy

AZ Concreting (ABN 99 633 810 512) is committed to providing quality services to you, and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your Personal Information.

We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The APPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your Personal Information.

A copy of the Australian Privacy Principles may be obtained from the website of the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au (opens in a new tab).

In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean AZ Concreting, and "our website" means azconcreting.com.au.

What Is Personal Information?

Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual, or from which an individual can reasonably be identified.

What Personal Information We Collect

The Personal Information we collect depends on how you deal with us. It may include:

  • your name
  • your phone number and email address
  • your property address or suburb
  • details about your project, such as the type of work, approximate size, preferred finish and timeframe
  • photos of your property that you choose to send us
  • records of our communications with you, quotes we prepare and work we complete
  • technical information sent with our website forms, such as your IP address, the page you sent the form from and the time it was sent

You don't have to give us your Personal Information, and you can contact us without giving your name if you only have a general question. However, if you don't provide the details we ask for, we may not be able to give you a quote or carry out work for you.

How We Collect Your Personal Information

We collect Personal Information in a number of ways, including:

  • when you fill in a quote or contact form on our website
  • when you phone, email or message us
  • when we visit your property to provide an on-site quote or carry out work
  • when you contact us through our Google Business Profile or social media pages

Where reasonable and practicable to do so, we collect your Personal Information directly from you.

Why We Collect and Use Your Personal Information

We collect your Personal Information for the primary purpose of providing our concreting services to you. This includes to:

  • respond to your enquiry or quote request
  • arrange and carry out on-site quotes
  • prepare quotes, schedule and complete work, and issue invoices
  • communicate with you about your project
  • keep business, tax and accounting records
  • protect our website and forms from spam and misuse

We may also use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure.

When we collect Personal Information we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.

Our Website, Forms and Third-Party Services

When you send a quote request or message through our website, the details you enter are delivered to us by email using Brevo, an email service provider based in the European Union. If you provide an email address, Brevo is also used to send you a confirmation that we have received your request. Brevo processes this information on our behalf to deliver these emails.

Our forms include simple, hidden spam protection. This checks how quickly a form was filled in and limits the number of requests from one internet connection. To do this, your IP address is checked temporarily and included in the email we receive.

Our website also uses content from third parties, which means your browser connects to their services when you view our pages:

  • Google Maps, to show our location and service area
  • Google Fonts, to display the fonts used on our website

These providers may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details, and handle it under their own privacy policies. You can read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy (opens in a new tab).

Our website contains links to other websites, including our Google Business Profile and social media pages. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other websites, and we don't guarantee the policies of those third parties.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device by your web browser. You don't need to accept cookies to browse our website or send us an enquiry.

Some third-party content on our website, such as embedded Google Maps, may set its own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may stop some embedded content, such as maps, from working fully.

Sensitive Information

Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information.

We do not ask for sensitive information, and we ask that you don't include it in our website forms. If we do hold sensitive information, it will be used by us only:

  • for the primary purpose for which it was obtained
  • for a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose
  • with your consent, or where required or authorised by law

Information from Third Parties

In some circumstances we may be provided with information about you by third parties, for example a builder, property manager or real estate agent arranging work at a property. In such a case we will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are made aware of the information provided to us by the third party.

Disclosure of Personal Information

We do not sell, rent or trade your Personal Information. Your Personal Information may be disclosed in a number of circumstances, including the following:

  • to service providers who help us run our business, such as our email, IT and website providers, and our accountant, only as needed for them to provide their services
  • to suppliers or contractors working on your project, where needed to complete the work
  • to third parties where you consent to the use or disclosure
  • where required or authorised by law

Overseas disclosure. Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia. In particular, website form submissions are delivered through Brevo, which is based in the European Union, and some Google services may process information in other countries. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers that protect Personal Information.

Marketing

We don't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing emails just because you have contacted us or requested a quote. We will only send you marketing communications if you have agreed to receive them, and you can ask us to stop at any time by contacting us.

Security and Storage of Personal Information

Your Personal Information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes using password-protected accounts and devices, and secure (HTTPS) connections on our website.

When your Personal Information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify it. However, records relating to quotes, invoices and completed work are generally kept for a minimum of 7 years for tax and business record-keeping purposes.

Access to Your Personal Information

You may access the Personal Information we hold about you and update and/or correct it, subject to certain exceptions. If you wish to access your Personal Information, please contact us in writing at contact@azconcreting.com.au.

AZ Concreting will not charge any fee for your access request, but may charge a reasonable administrative fee for providing a copy of your Personal Information.

In order to protect your Personal Information, we may require identification from you before releasing the requested information.

Maintaining the Quality of Your Personal Information

It is important to us that your Personal Information is up to date. We will take reasonable steps to make sure that your Personal Information is accurate, complete and up to date. If you find that the information we have is not up to date or is inaccurate, please let us know as soon as practicable so we can update our records and ensure we can continue to provide quality services to you.

Policy Updates

This policy may change from time to time. The current version is always available on our website, and the date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
